Saving Time and Money

So I have decided to make my list of meals for 2 weeks and share them with you.  We all get tired of recipes or coming up with new ideas for meals.  I figured if I can help you with new ideas of how to save time and money,  then great!  I have noticed when I actually plan my meals, not only do I save time, but save money!  I "shop" in my pantry first and make meals with what I have on hand and then make a list of things I need to purchase from the store.  With the "extra" money saved in the budget, I stock up on other items.  I use these envelopes from familymanager.com that allows you to plan the meals on one side and shopping list on the other.  It being an envelope helps to keep whatever coupons you may have to take with you for your groceries.  If you see a recipe on here that you may want, ask me for it! I'd love to share it with you!.  Also, the beauty of having everything planned allows you to change up the meals.  For instance, I had black bean burger quesadillas planned for today, but had chicken I needed to cook so switched with Oct. 30 dinner and made Coconut Curry Chicken and froze the leftovers for a later meal.  I would love for you to send me a copy of your meal plan too!

  2. We are on our own for breakfast and lunches since we make Tristan's and send with him to school and we work during the day (in and out of home). Here was last week's dinner menu ~ since I am in NYC all week for work this week, I didn't need to plan this week's meals:

    Oct 24th
Broiled white fish, navy beans, and strawberry spinach salad

    Oct 25th
Chicken and spinach meatballs over noodles with white sauce and mushrooms

    Oct 26th
Lasagna, salad and garlic bread (BTW, when I have bread, hotdog buns, hamburger buns, or rolls that I won't eat before they go bad, I will put butter and garlic on them and freeze them until I use them for garlic toast ~ as needed).

    Oct 27th
Used the leftover navy beans and noodles and created a broth based noodle, navy bean, hamburger, and carrot soup that ended up making an entire crock pot full and froze many servings for leftovers.

    Oct 28th
Pan seared brussel sprouts with almonds and cranberries and grilled chicken

    Oct 29th
    Went out for dinner

    Oct 30th
    Leftovers

    XOXO
